UNIQLO Announces its 2024 Spring/Summer Collection. Focusing on urban casual wear that is “light” with color, material and functionality for both on and off-duty wear.

On February 7, UNIQLO held the “UNIQLO 2024 SPRING/SUMMER LifeWear Collection” exhibition just prior to the 2024 spring/summer season. The main theme of this season is “Lightness. While clean casual wear, which is simple yet functional and can be worn by both men and women without any restrictions on on/off, has become established, the collection proposes a “lightness” in the way of dressing that moves between the boundaries of scene, taste, and style. For example, the simple, ecru colors of linen and cotton. For example, the use of soft pale tones such as dull pink, the use of natural linen and Supima cotton for comfort, and thinner, more comfortable jackets and T-shirts. UNIQLO presented a variety of coordinated outfits for this spring and summer season, mixing standard items that symbolize the company’s high-cost-cost-conscious “LifeWear” (essential daily wear) with new items that will be sequentially released from February to April. The exhibition had been held at UNIQLO’s press room for the past few years due to the influence of Corona, but this time, for the first time in a while, it was held at a grand venue in Roppongi, Tokyo. As with LifeWear, the set was designed to look as if you were in a “train or station that is indispensable to daily life,” and three zones (Lifestyle, Function, Texture) were set up to introduce core products.

Lightness in Lifestyle,” an everyday fashion that can be enjoyed freely First, the “Lifestyle” zone appealed to the fashion-conscious. The “station platform,” a place where business people, street performers, and many other people come and go, was the stage for free, urban coordination. Featured products included trendy denim, loose-fitting cargo pants, parachute pants, and the AIRISM one-piece, which is light to the touch and easy to move in. Combined with basic items such as sweatshirts and shirts, they create a spring/summer style that combines the usual casual staples with a sporty touch.

Next is the “Function” zone, which promotes functionality that is more than just looks. The “Lightness in Function” zone includes UNIQLO’s signature Air Rhythm line, an impressive jacket and pants set-up that is stretchable, lightweight, quick-drying, and washable, a pocketable UV-cut parka that blocks over 90% of UV rays just by wearing it, the Block Tech parka (3D cut) that blocks wind and rain and allows moisture to escape, and a windproof, yet mesh-lined Wind Proof Zoom, a comfortable, windproof, mesh-lined jacket. Windproof, mesh-lined, comfortable window-proof blouson, and other items for all weather conditions in early spring and hot summer. Moving mannequins stylishly wear these functionality-oriented items in an exhibition space that replicates the inside of a train. The train windows were also decorated with views of the Yurikamome train headed for UNIQLO’s Ariake headquarters and the sudden onset of rain, creating a realistic representation of the world of everyday life.

The third zone is “Texture,” which focuses on natural materials such as linen and cotton. Key items include a “Premium Linen Shirt” made of 100% high quality European linen, a brat top dress made of a mix of different materials that can be worn alone, a round mini shoulder bag made of cool raffia material, and a crinkle cotton tiered skirt with a softly voluminous hem. crinkle cotton tiered skirt with a soft and voluminous hem, etc. The display is decorated with a variety of flowers and plants inspired by European gardens where premium linens are actually grown, creating a lineup of summer casual outfits with a cool, vacation-like feel.
