ANA’s new international medium-haul brand, AirJapan, launched its first flight on February 9. The first flight was to Bangkok, Thailand.
Prior to the start of operations, a ceremony was held in front of Gate 51 of Narita Airport Terminal 1. Yasutaka Yamashita’s Tsugaru Shamisen (three-stringed Japanese banjo) performance enlivened the Japanese atmosphere. Hideki Mineguchi, President and Representative Director of Air Japan, took the stage at the ceremony and said, “On board, you will be welcomed by boarding music that combines Japanese and Western music, the aroma of naturally occurring aromas, and the smiles of our cabin crew. We hope you will enjoy the spaciousness and comfort of our seats, which are our most popular features. Today’s flight was fully booked, and we are very grateful for the support we received,” he said. The return flight from Bangkok is also fully booked.
The first flight, with 310 passengers, departed at 18:21 and took off for Bangkok at 18:48.
