JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with President William Ruto of the Republic of Kenya in Tokyo on February 8.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Tanaka welcomed the participants to their first reunion since 2013 and expressed his high regard for President Ruto’s leadership at home and abroad.
In response, President Luto expressed his gratitude for JICA’s extensive cooperation in Kenya.
They also exchanged views on the promotion of the development of the Mombasa region, which is the gateway to East Africa and which Japan has long supported, cooperation in the energy and agricultural sectors, and the promotion of partnerships between Kenya’s research centers in the health sector and Japan.
