JR East View Tourism & Sales will begin selling travel products departing from the Hokuriku area under the JR East View Dynamic Rail Pack, which combines train travel with lodging or sightseeing.
Until now, the Hokuriku region has only handled travel originating in eastern Japan, but with the Hokuriku Shinkansen extension, it will also be possible to use itineraries departing from the Hokuriku region from February 16, before the Kanazawa-Tsuruga section of the line opens.
The departure stations covered are between Itoigawa and Tsuruga stations, as well as Hakui and Wakuraonsen stations. As Wakuraonsen Station is included in the section of the route that is closed due to the Noto Peninsula earthquake (as of February 9), the release of plans departing from that station may be delayed.
To commemorate the start of sales from Hokuriku, discount coupons for travel from Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui prefectures will be distributed on the website from February 16 to March 31. The coupons can be used for lodging plans in the Tohoku, Kita-Kanto, Tokyo metropolitan area, Izu, Hakone, and Koshinetsu areas by March 31, and offer a discount of 2,000 yen for a minimum purchase of 30,000 yen and 4,000 yen for a minimum purchase of 70,000 yen. The number of coupons distributed is 200 each.
