The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the government of the Independent State of Samoa on February 12 in Apia, the capital of the Independent State of Samoa, for a grant of up to 2,401 million yen for the “Facility Improvement Project for the Faculty of Health Sciences of the National University of Samoa.
This project aims to improve the quality of education in the field of health and medical care by constructing an education and training building for the training program for doctors and nurses at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the National University of Samoa, located in Apia, and by equipping it with related materials and equipment. This project is expected to strengthen Samoa’s healthcare human resource development and contribute to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Goal 3 (health and welfare for all) and Goal 4 (quality education for all).
