The Shibuya City Tourist Association will launch “THE TOKYO TOILET SHUTTLE TOUR,” a joint project with NearMe, to tour THE TOKYO TOILET public restrooms, with two tours a day every Thursday and Saturday starting March 2.
THE TOKYO TOILET was designed by Tadao Ando and other architects with the goal of creating public restrooms that are comfortable for everyone. The Nippon Foundation has installed them at a total of 17 locations in Tokyo. In this tour, we will visit these toilets using a sharing cab.
There are three courses: the “East-West Course” that visits all toilets, the “East Course” that visits nine locations, and the “West Course” that visits eight locations. All courses begin and end at the main entrance on the 5th floor of Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu (1-12-2 Dogenzaka, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo). The East-West Course takes 3 hours, while the East and West Courses take 1 hour and 50 minutes. The price is 9,900 yen for the East-West Course and 4,950 yen for the East and West Courses.
As part of the campaign, until April 27, users will receive a 1,500 yen discount on their first ride by entering the coupon code (tttst202402) and will also receive “The Tokyo Toilet book,” a guidebook with photos of each toilet and a message from the architects. The Tokyo Toilet book, a guidebook with photos of each toilet and messages from architects, will be given to users.
