The No. 1 signboard cat is Chacha-chan of Iwagyo Chasha. Jalan announces “2024 signboard cat ranking of inns you would like to meet” in honor of Cat Day.

In honor of Cat Day, February 22, Jalan has released “Ranking 2024 Signboard Cats at Inns You Would Like to Meet. The ranking is based on the results of a nationwide survey of 1,038 people in their 20s to 50s (conducted from January 4 to 9).

The winner of the signboard cat ranking was Chacha-chan from the Iwagyo Chasha in Yamanashi Prefecture. In the survey, she attracted comments such as, “She seems to be THE signboard cat,” and “She really seems to be a signboard cat. She is good at getting along with anyone, and is said to greet guests when they check in.

In second place was Gon-chan from the Guest House Suzu in Mie Prefecture, and in third place was Panda-chan and her nine friends from Villa Katsuyama Aveil in Chiba Prefecture, who entered as a team.
