Nankai Electric Railway announced that the Takashihama Line will resume service on April 6. Due to the elevation of the line for a series of elevated intersections, the entire line has been out of service since 2021, and bus transportation has been provided on its behalf.
In conjunction with the resumption of service, restrooms at the Kyara-bashi and Takashihama stations will be upgraded with new multi-functional restrooms, and an elevator will be installed at the Takashihama station. The schedule after the resumption of service has also been announced, with trains running approximately every 15 minutes in the morning and evening, and every 20 minutes during the daytime.
Before the reopening, a free “Elevated Walk” event will be held on March 30. The event will be held four times, two in the morning for Takaishi residents only and two in the afternoon for the general public. Each tour is designed for a group of two people, consisting of a child in 4th to 6th grade and a parent or guardian. The general public tour will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition, on March 30, a special venue in the construction yard on the west side of Hagoromo Station will host the “Welcome Back! Takashihama Line Thanksgiving Festival: Together with Local Residents” will be held on March 30 at a special venue in the construction yard on the west side of Hagoromo Station. The event will include a photo exhibition of the Takashihama Line before it was elevated, an exhibition of Nankai Bus vehicles, and a stage event, details of which will be announced at a later date.
