Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release on February 29 the TRN-50, a reissue of the company’s first digital watch, the Casiotron QW02, released in 1974, in a limited edition of 4,000 pieces. The price is 63,800 yen.
The watch is equipped with an “auto calendar function” that automatically determines the number of days in the month and adjusts the date, a feature made possible by CASIOTRON. The exterior design of the watch, from the size to the case and band, the dark blue face, and the CASIOTRON logo, were reproduced as they were at the time.
In terms of functionality, it incorporates the latest technology, with functions such as reception of standard radio waves from six stations around the world, mobile link function via Bluetooth, Tough Solar, and highly visible STN LCD.
