KDDI and Okinawa Cellular have added additional countries and regions covered by povo2.0’s overseas roaming “area topping”.
The 13 countries/regions added are nine European countries (UK, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, France, and Belgium), plus Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Area Topping” is an overseas roaming service that offers savings in popular destinations, unlike “Regular Topping,” which is offered in more than 90 countries and regions. Thirteen countries/regions have been added to the lineup, including South Korea and the United States. Rates vary depending on destination, data volume selected, and number of days.
The service is available immediately after purchase by selecting the “Overseas” tab on the povo2.0 application and selecting the destination. In the case of advance reservations (30 days in advance), use of the service will begin upon arrival.
