summary

Conference Title: FOODEX Japan 2024 (49th International Food and Beverage Exhibition) Mongolian Pavilion

Date: Tuesday, March 5, 2024 – Friday, March 8, 2024

Organizers: Japan Management Association, Japan Hotel Association, Japan Ryokan Association, International Tourism and Japanese Restaurant Association, International Tourism Facilities Association

Location: Tokyo Big Sight (3-11-1 Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo)

Background and Objectives

While the mining industry supports the Mongolian economy, with mineral products accounting for more than 80% of Mongolia’s export products, the country’s over-dependence on mineral resources has created a need for industrial diversification, including manufacturing and processing. Therefore, support is needed to promote manufacturing industries targeting livestock and agricultural products, as well as to promote business management, technology introduction, and technological improvement for small, medium, and micro enterprises.

Against this background, JICA, the Mongolian government, the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Mongolian-Japanese Human Resources Development Center are pleased to announce that the Mongolian booth – Mongolian Pavilion – will be exhibited at FOODEX Japan 2024, an exhibition to be held in March 2024. -FOODEX Japan is one of the largest food and beverage exhibitions in Asia, where various players in the food industry gather to exchange information and conduct business. JICA provides Mongolian companies with support for exhibition, business negotiations, and marketing. In addition, a Mongolia seminar titled “Rediscovering Mongolian Foods, a Nature Powerhouse You Have Missed” is scheduled to be held on March 5 (Tuesday) from 14:00. For more details, please refer to the flyer in the handout and the FOODEXJapan2024 homepage. We hope you will be able to join us.
