The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Yen Loan Agreement (L/A) with the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 19 in Tashkent for up to 37 billion yen for the “Program Loan to Support Sustainable Economic and Social Development.
By providing financial assistance, this project will support the continued implementation of economic reforms toward a market economy that Uzbekistan is promoting, and strengthen social inclusiveness and stability, including support for vulnerable groups that are vulnerable to changes in economic conditions. The program will contribute to SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Goals 1 (End Poverty), 5 (Achieve Gender Equality), and 8 (Work Satisfaction and Economic Growth) by strengthening institutional and environmental development for private sector growth, strengthening management of state-owned enterprises, and providing support to strengthen social inclusion and resilience.
