Maruichi Kanko and WILLER EXPRESS resumed the Tokyo-Toyama/Ishikawa (Nanao) route of the WILLER EXPRESS highway bus service on February 21 (service from Tokyo will resume on February 22). Fares start at 5,200 yen to/from Takaoka Tonami and Kanazawa, and 5,900 yen to/from Hakui and Nanao.
The service was temporarily suspended due to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024 that occurred on January 1, but has resumed service for the first time in about a month and a half. It is now possible to travel between Tokyo and the Noto area without changing trains. However, since passengers are urged to refrain from non-essential travel to the Noto area, the resumption of service is “mainly for people living in the Noto Peninsula,” and since the service also goes through Kanazawa Station, it is positioned as “a way to transport passengers from outside the prefecture to the Kaga area and help the reconstruction of Ishikawa Prefecture as a whole.
