JR East Cross Station released “Uonuma Koshihikari Rice Flour Cookie Tins” with Suica penguin and panda designs. The price is 2,500 yen.
They are available at Pensta and JRE MALL, which sell Suica penguin goods. The cookies are produced at the Tokamachi Sukoyaka Factory, a factory in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture, using 100% rice flour made from Uonuma Koshihikari rice. The cookies are characterized by the light and crispy texture unique to rice flour, and both cans come in two flavors: plain and hojicha (roasted green tea).
The cookie tins are original tin cans created by Kato Seisakusho, a long-established tea canister and tin can manufacturer with a history of over 120 years in Asakusabashi, Tokyo, and are individually processed by machine using traditional methods. The cans are spray painted and printed by hand.
The cans are available in three nuanced colors: ivory, blue, and pink. Multiple cans can be stacked for storage.
