Rakuten Travel has announced the launch of “Hokuriku Oenwari,” accepting reservations from March 8 at 10:00 a.m. (as of March 7). As of March 7, only Niigata Prefecture (other prefectures will be announced as soon as they are determined) is eligible for the program.
The Hokuriku Ouen Wari program provides up to 50% of the travel price (accommodation products or accommodation products with transportation) to domestic and international visitors in order to restore tourism demand in the four Hokuriku prefectures that suffered a decline due to the Noto Peninsula earthquake in 2024.
The program applies to stays between March 16 and April 26 (including check-out on April 27), and reservations can be made directly at participating lodging facilities, as well as through travel agencies and OTAs designated by each prefecture.
Rakuten Travel only handles “domestic lodging” services, and does not cover reservations made through Rakuten Pack (airline tickets + lodging/shinkansen/express train + lodging) or Rakuten Travel’s foreign-language website (inbound website).
The maximum discount is 20,000 yen off per person per night per reservation.
