Posted on 2024-03-122024-03-24 by Editor in Chief

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, operated by Tateyama Kurobe Kanko, will release weekly information on snow removal for the full opening of the route on April 15.

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world’s leading mountain tourism routes located in the Chubu-Sangaku National Park. From Tateyama Station (Toyama Prefecture) to Ogisawa (Nagano Prefecture), visitors can enjoy the spectacular natural scenery while taking the Tateyama Kogen Bus or Tateyama Tunnel Trolley Bus.

Snow removal on the Tateyama Toll Road, on which the Tateyama Kogen Bus runs, covers a total length of 31.3 km from the Fuji Bridge area at the foot of Tateyama to Murodo, which is 2,450 m above sea level.

As of March 11, the snow accumulation (first report) was 710 cm (560 cm the previous year) at Murodo and 450 cm (390 cm the previous year) at Daikanbo at an elevation of 2316 m. One lane has been cleared up to near Kobo at an elevation of 1630 m.

The “Reservation Web Ticket,” an advance boarding reservation that is being sold in advance for a limited number of sections, will go on regular sale for all sections from March 15 at 3:00 p.m., and the “Snowy Valley Festival,” a springtime event, will be held from April 15 to June 25.
