Grand Vista Hotels & Resorts will open Kobe Suma Sea World and Kobe Suma Sea World Hotel (1-3-5 Wakamiya-cho, Suma-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture) on June 1. Kobe Suma Sea World Hotel began accepting reservations on March 13.
Kobe Suma Sea World is an aquarium and hotel that will open as part of the redevelopment of Kobe City Suma Seaside Aquarium. The concept of the aquarium is “Connecting Edutainment Aquarium” that combines “Education” for learning and “Entertainment” for playing.
It is the only aquarium in western Japan that exhibits killer whales, and in addition to a dynamic killer whale show at the Orca Stadium, there is also a restaurant where visitors can dine while observing the orcas through a 21m wide by 2.7m high window.
There are also educational zones such as the OrcaLab and OrcaHall, which will also make ecological survey data and other information on killer whales available to the public.
In addition, the exhibit focuses on the Mylidae family, including “Dolphin Beach,” where visitors can interact with dolphins, and “Dolphin Hall,” where dolphins can be observed in a 12m wide by 2.7m high wide tank.
