Walt Disney Japan will open Gunma’s first permanent Disney Store “Disney Store Ota AEON Mall Store” at AEON Mall Ota on April 19.
To celebrate the opening, the store will offer limited items and a gift campaign. The store design is also inspired by the first “picture book brought to life by the magic of Disney” in Japan.
At the entrance, a Mickey Mouse statue dressed as the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” greets visitors. Inside the store, fans will find artwork by the “Nine Old Men,” a group of legendary animators handpicked by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The store offers more than 1,500 items. The store offers a wide range of items, from the popular “UniBEARsity” series and “Urupocha-chan” to apparel and household goods.
In addition, a limited edition item is also available at the Ota AEON MALL store to commemorate the grand opening. The “Urupochachan Plushie” (1,800 yen each) features Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck relaxing in a hot spring bath, and the word “Gunma” and the rock bath make you feel warm. The plushie is adorable with a tegui wrapped around its head and waist.
The “Gunma” love shines through in the “Tote Bag” (950 yen), which is A4 size and can hold documents and other items. It is also a good way to store souvenirs you picked up while sightseeing in Gunma.
In addition, the first 1,000 customers who purchase 5,000 yen or more will receive an original tote bag limited to the Ota AEON MALL store. Store cards will also be distributed to those who wish to receive them. In addition, a 5X point campaign for the Disney Store Club will be held at the Ota AEON MALL store and the Hanyu AEON MALL store from April 19 to 21.
On the opening day, there will be a waiting line to enter the store. Details will be announced later on the Disney Store News page.
