Weathernews released the “Seventh Cherry Blossom Bloom Forecast (Preliminary)” on March 19. Finally, blooming is expected to begin in Hiroshima this weekend on the 23rd, followed by Tokyo, Fukuoka, Kochi, and Gifu on the 24th.

In March, blooming will begin in western and eastern Japan, and in the southern Tohoku region.

The cherry blossom front is then expected to move northward over the northern Tohoku region from early to mid-April and land in Hokkaido in late April. In many parts of Hokuriku and northern Japan, it will be earlier than normal, in some places by as much as a week.

In western and eastern Japan, most locations are expected to reach full bloom in early April. The “Seventh Cherry Blossom Bloom Forecast” with detailed views is scheduled to be released on March 21.

Forecasts for the blooming and full-blooming of cherry blossom at more than 1,100 cherry blossom viewing spots nationwide can be checked on the Weathernews app or on the “Sakura Ch.” website.
