Develop will open a container hotel, HOTEL R9 The Yard Sakuragawa (2-95-1 Fujimidai, Sakuragawa, Ibaraki Prefecture), on April 23. Prior to the opening, the company will start accepting reservations from 3:00 p.m. on April 16.

The “HOTEL R9 The Yard” series is a series of 81 hotels nationwide that perform disaster prevention functions in case of emergency.

The Sakuragawa branch, the 10th in Ibaraki Prefecture, is located 6 minutes from the Sakuragawa-Chikusei Interchange and 12 minutes from the Kasama-Nishi Interchange on the North Kanto Expressway, along the Iwase Bypass on National Route 50. In the event of an emergency, the guest rooms can be promptly relocated to the disaster area and will function as a “rescue hotel” for Sakuragawa City’s evacuation center.

A total of 47 independent guest rooms are available using construction container modules. No walls are placed between adjacent rooms to maintain quietness and privacy. The 13m2 rooms, which can accommodate up to two people, are equipped with a bed, unit bath, refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, and humidifying air purifier, providing a simple yet comfortable stay.

Room rates range from 6,200 yen per person per night for a double room/ 8,700 yen per person per night for two people, and from 6,200 yen per person per night for a twin room/ 9,700 yen per person per night for two people. Free parking for 48 standard and light vehicles is also available.

On April 11, a disaster agreement signing ceremony with Sakuragawa City and a tour of the facility are scheduled to be held.
