The Kinnikuman Museum Production Committee will open its first permanent exhibition hall, the Kinnikuman Museum (5-2-15 Otemachi, Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture), in late April.
The “Kinnikuman” series, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1979 and continues in Weekly Playboy/Shukupre NEWS, is a long-running fighting manga that will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2024. The Kinnikuman Museum will open in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, a city connected to Mount Fuji, the setting of the “Tournament Mountain” depicted in the “Dream Superhero Tag Team Arc.
The first floor consists of two levels, the first and second floors (total floor space of approximately 840m2). The first floor is a sales area with Kinnikuman-related goods and a free space to enjoy manga and related books, while the second floor features 45 reproductions of original drawings, new life-size figures, and contents introducing the history of artist Yudetamago (original writer Takashi Shimada and artist Yoshinori Nakai). The second floor will be a free space for visitors to enjoy 45 original reproductions of the original manga and related books.
