Emirates Airlines will offer services on its Japan-Dubai route to coincide with the cherry blossom season. The service is available on 21 flights departing from Haneda/Narita/Kansai between March 25 and 31.
First and business class passengers will be treated to a dessert to celebrate spring: three types of Japanese sweets, including sakura mochi (cherry blossom cake) and matcha mochi (green tea cake), served with yuzu caviar and green tea anglaise.
Kaiseki cuisine, available in all classes, is prepared in the Emirates’ dedicated Japanese kitchen using seasonal ingredients. The menu includes such dishes as kinpira-kon, rolled mackerel with Kinuta-maki, grilled sea bass with carrots, bamboo shoots and snap peas, myoga and peaches pickled in sweet vinegar, Namanake mushrooms with grated radish and wolfberries, and chicken with ginger on rice. Sencha green tea and “Nanbu Bijin Special Junmai” sake will also be served.
The in-flight entertainment system ice offers up to 45 Japanese films, including the latest “Ghost Book: Obake Zukan,” a live-action adaptation of a popular children’s book, and “Welcome to Komada Distillery,” about a family struggling to make whiskey, as well as up to 225 Hollywood films, including the latest “Killers of the Flower Moon” and ” The Creator” and up to 225 Hollywood movies will also be available in dubbed Japanese.
