Seibu Railway and JR East announced that Seibu Railway plans to introduce the in-vehicle platform monitor system (train-complete system), which JR East has been introducing, to one-man operation lines around 2026.
This is part of the cooperation in the field of technology under the memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies in 2022. The technology that detects when a passenger is approaching a train and notifies the train crew, which is currently being tested, will be introduced as well. Seibu Railway is also cooperating in the development of this technology, which is expected to be put into practical use even earlier.
