On March 27, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) approved the project to convert 11 expressway sections nationwide to four lanes.
East Hokkaido Expressway: Oiwenchou IC – Yubari IC (4.1km, approx. 25 billion yen, Hokkaido)
Akita Expressway: Yokote Kita Smart IC – Omagari IC (7.9 km, approx. 36 billion yen, Akita Pref.)
Joban Expressway: Yamamoto-Minami Smart IC – Yamamoto IC (5.5 km, approx. 21 billion yen, Miyagi Prefecture)
Banetsu Expressway: Nishiaizu IC – Tsugawa IC (8.7km, approx. 66 billion yen, Niigata Prefecture)
Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway: Tobita-Kiyomi IC – Shirakawa-go IC (4.3km, approx. 30 billion yen, Gifu Pref.)
San’in Expressway: Matsue Tamatsukuri IC – Shishido JCT (3.0km, approx. 18 billion yen, Shimane Prefecture)
Tokushima Expressway: Mima IC – Yoshinogawa SA Smart IC (4.8km, 26 billion yen, Tokushima Prefecture)
Matsuyama Expressway: Iyo IC – Uchiko Igasaki IC (5.3km, approx. 40 billion yen, Ehime)
Higashi-Kyushu Expressway (Shiida Road): Toyotsu IC – Tsukijo IC (1.2 km, approx. 7 billion yen, Fukuoka Prefecture)
Higashi-Kyushu Expressway: Sueyoshi Zaibu IC – Kokubu IC (7.1km, 52 billion yen, Kagoshima Prefecture)
Nishi-Kyushu Expressway (Takeo Sasebo Road): Takeo Minami IC – Hasami Arita IC (4.6km, approx. 35 billion yen, Saga/Nagasaki Pref.)
