On March 27, NEXCO Central Japan announced pinpoint traffic congestion countermeasures for two sections of the Tomei and Chuo Expressways, which are permitted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism under Article 3 of the Road Improvement Special Measures Law.
On the Tomei Expressway, an additional lane will be installed near the Ayase Smart Interchange (uplink) to convert the current three lanes to four lanes (approximately 1.3 km).
On the Chuo Expressway, an additional lane will be installed near the Hino Bus Stop (on the off-ramp) to convert the current two lanes to three lanes (approximately 6.6 km).
