WILLER EXPRESS announced that it will begin referring to its bus drivers as “highway pilots” in April. The company hopes to improve its image by branding the profession, and hopes that more people will aspire to become drivers.
In addition, as a measure to address the labor shortage, the company announced that it will establish a specialized training facility for personnel from other industries. The training will focus on people with experience in the customer service industry, and seven people from used car dealerships, restaurants, and other businesses have already been accepted as the first batch of students.
To address the labor shortage and the so-called “2024 problem,” the company will continue to improve user satisfaction and increase employee salaries.
