The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Republic of Guinea on April 16 in Conakry for a grant of up to 2.72 billion yen for the “National Road No. 2 Farana Bridge Replacement Project.
The Farana Bridge on National Highway No. 2, which will be replaced in this project, is used by many vehicles and pedestrians traveling between the capital Conakry and the Forest Guinea region as a transportation hub between the two regions. In addition, Guinea’s economy has been growing at an average rate of over 6% since 2016, and traffic volume is expected to continue to increase.
