On April 19, JCB began issuing JCB Platinum numberless cards, which do not have numbers on the face of the card. The annual membership fee is 27,500 yen.
The numberless card does not have a card number or security code printed on the face of the card, and can be used in the event of card loss or in-store purchases without the card information being seen by a third party.
Card information can be checked from the “MyJCB App”, and if the login ID or password for the app is forgotten, the two-dimensional code on the back of the card can be scanned with the app to find the login information.
During the period from April 1 to September 30, the company will offer a cash refund of the first-year membership fee (27,500 yen) for customers who spend 300,000 yen or more, 20% of the amount spent on Amazon.co.jp (up to 30,000 yen), and a maximum cash refund of 69,500 yen. The company is also running an enrollment campaign that offers up to 69,500 yen in cash back.
