JINS announced that the bifocal lens “JINS Gokujo Bifocal Lens,” which went on sale on April 11, sold 200% of its planned volume in the first week of its launch.
Because general bifocal lenses are made so that the upper part of the lens focuses on the distance and the lower part on the near, there is a gradual change in power at the top and bottom of the lens, which may cause fluctuations in vision or distortion on the left and right sides of the lens when moving the line of sight.
The JINS ultra high perspective lens has a refractive index of 1.76 with double-sided progressive and double-sided aspheric surfaces to reduce shaking and distortion compared to conventional products, and “provides a wider and clearer field of vision from far to near”.
The price is the frame plus 22,000 yen, and because the lenses are custom-made, delivery is not immediate, but takes several days.
