Naoki Wakabayashi’s Travel Photo Gallery] Cherry blossoms around Chidorigafuchi (Tokyo)

Posted on 2024-04-22 by Editor in Chief

The cherry blossoms around Chidorigafuchi, which we will introduce in this issue, are just coming into full bloom and are predicted to have a blizzard of cherry blossoms on April 10.

Chidorigafuchi is a greenway along the moat outside Kitanomaru Park on the north side of the Imperial Palace, where rows of cherry trees and huge trees covered with cherry blossoms hang down toward the moat, creating a beautiful and magnificent scene. There are many places of interest from the moat surrounding Kitanomaru Park to the Daikancho Street and the area around Inenmon Gate, from Yasukuni Shrine to Ichigaya Station, and many other places that you will not be able to walk around. It is no exaggeration to say that this is the most beautiful and largest scale cherry blossom viewing spot in Japan.

Although I have not been able to do so yet, you can take a boat from the boatyard to view the cherry blossoms. Also, during the cherry blossom festival, the cherry blossoms are lit up and can be viewed at night. Both of these events are great for families and lovers to enjoy and make good memories together.
