What is Roots Inawashiro, which reuses historic buildings? RV Park Roots Inawashiro is located in the grounds of an elementary school that was closed in 2006, but it is not an uninhabited school to stay in. The school facility itself is managed by Roots Corporation, a local construction company, and the renovated school building is used as a complex called “Roots Inawashiro,” which houses unique stores that match the “home,” “living,” “food,” “feeling,” “garden,” and “fun” themes of the school. Across the street from this complex is Roots Inawashiro’s Lake Area (facing Lake Inawashiro), which also has stores that match the theme. Incidentally, the building in the lake area was renovated from a pumping facility that pumped water from Lake Inawashiro in the Meiji era. The historical architecture of both the school area and the lake area is a major feature of Roots Inawashiro. The school area is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Hours of operation are from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Lake Area is closed on Wednesdays and open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you would like to visit the Roots Inawashiro store as well as the RV park, please note the schedule.
Stay in the school yard and shower in the school building Roots Inawashiro RV Park Roots Inawashiro is set up to occupy two parking spaces in Roots Inawashiro. The parking lot itself is quite large, but for the convenience of securing power, three spaces are set aside for the RV park. The space is about 260cm wide and 450cm long, which is enough room for an N-VAN, but may be too long for a large camper, so please let them know if you have a larger vehicle when you make your reservation. If you have a larger vehicle, please let them know at the time of reservation, and they will guide you to a space where you can park your larger vehicle without any problem. Restrooms are located in the school building and are available 24 hours a day. The school building houses stores and offices, so security will be set up after business hours, but RV park users will be told how to enter the school building. Shower rooms are also located in the school building, and these are not simple, but have a dedicated room, and upon entering, there was a small changing area and two shower booths. The showers are supplied with hot water from a dedicated water heater, so before use, the water heater is activated by operating a controller on the wall of the booth. The controller is the same as the one used for the water heater at home, so it is easy to operate. Remember to turn it off after use. Separate shower rooms for men and women are provided in the three RV park spaces, so even if all the spaces are occupied, there may not be much waiting time for showers. We will be sweating more in the coming season, so it will be nice to have easy access to showers. This is an overview of RV Park Roots Inawashiro. While using the park for sightseeing in the Inawashiro area is fine, the stores and sauna at Roots Inawashiro are well worth the trip, so it is a good idea to arrive early on the day of your stay and enjoy the facilities until the evening. The cherry blossoms around Inawashiro are said to be at their best in May, so if you want to see the cherry blossoms, you can take advantage of the consecutive holidays to go out there. There were also cherry trees in the school yard, so it would be possible to enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms at night along with staying in the car.
