JR Tokai and JR West will start selling “S Work cars” (Nozomi, Hikari, and Kodama: reserved seats in Car 7 of 16-car trains) for those who want to use mobile devices in Shinkansen trains without any concern, through e5489 provided by JR West and at stations, in addition to the existing EX service, from April 22, 2010. The seats can be purchased for boarding on May 22.
The fare is the same as that for a reserved seat in a standard car at e5489 or at ticket offices (station ticket counters and reserved seat ticket machines) of JR companies. S WorkP seats, which are available on some S Work trains, can be purchased by paying an additional amount to the fare for a reserved seat in a standard car.
