DE10 pulls coaches for JR Kyushu’s “SL Hitoyoshi. Tour on the Hohi Main Line, Nippo Main Line, etc. in April.

JR Kyushu has begun selling three tours using the carriages of SL Hitoyoshi. All of them are available on the “STORES” reservation website.

The 50 Series coaches for “SL Hitoyoshi,” which will be out of service in 2024, will be pulled by the diesel locomotive DE10 class. 3 tours will be conducted from April 19 to 21, as follows.

From the 19th to the morning of the 20th, the “Overnight Train Trip on the Hohi Main Line with Series 50 Passenger Cars” will depart from Kumamoto Station at midnight on the 20th (meeting and departure date on the 19th) and run one-way to Oita Station via the Hohi Main Line while staying overnight in the train. The price per person is 16,500 yen for a 4-passenger box seat and 9,000 yen for a 2-passenger seat.

During the daytime on the 20th, the “Fukuoka/Oita Destination Campaign Commemorative Event Series 50 Coach Special Run! A Journey to Mojiko” will make a round trip between Oita Station and Mojiko Station. From Mojiko Station, passengers can take a free walk and choose a lunch course that includes a roast beef bowl at the restaurant “MOJISHO” and a visit to the control room in the former headquarters building of JR Kyushu. The price is 12,800 yen for the free walking course without meals and 15,300 yen for the lunch course.

On the 21st, a one-way daytime train will run from Oita Station to Kumamoto Station! A one-way daytime train service from Oita Station to Kumamoto Station as part of the “Discover the Charms of the Hohi Main Line. At Bungo Taketa Station, passengers can enjoy local hospitality, and at Aso Station, they can enjoy shopping at Michi no Eki Aso (Roadside Station). The price is 12,000 yen.
