Hilton Japan, Korea and Micronesia and Daiwa House Realty Management opened the DoubleTree by Hilton Kyoto Station (15 Nishi-Iwamotocho, Higashi Kujo, Minami-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) on March 29.
Located about a 5-minute walk from the Hachijo exit of JR Kyoto Station, the 9-story building has a total of 266 guest rooms, an all-day dining room, a café-lounge, and a 24-hour fitness center.
The hotel interior is a fusion of Kyoto tradition and contemporary art, with a monument in the entrance lobby inspired by ikebana (flower arrangement), ceiling artwork that looks as if it were written with a stroke of ink, and a counter in the café lounge made of Kyoto tiles.
The 16 types of guest rooms vary in design according to floor level, with the 2nd to 6th floors featuring a retro-modern style with gorgeous Japanese patterned carpets, while the 7th to 9th floors feature executive rooms with a classic purple color scheme and suites with 81m2 of living room and bedroom space, The sunny rooms offer views of the Shinkansen bullet train and the city of Kyoto.
Executive Room and Suite guests also have access to the Executive Lounge, located on the top 9 floors. Services include check-in, check-out, breakfast, refreshments, and evening cocktails.
Harvest Kitchen, an all-day dining restaurant adjacent to the lobby floor, offers meals that incorporate an abundance of local seasonal ingredients. Signature dishes include the “Double Smash Burger” accented with Saikyo miso mayonnaise, the “Double Oyakodon” made with Tamba Ajiwai chicken, and “Bonsai Tiramisu” for dessert.
At the café lounge “Globe Lounge,” visitors can enjoy sake drinking sets and liqueurs from around the world.
