The Fuji Shiba Cherry Blossom Festival Executive Committee will hold the “Fuji Shiba Cherry Blossom Festival,” one of the largest festivals of its kind in the Kanto region, from April 13 to May 26, with approximately 500,000 plants in full bloom.

The venue is “Fuji Motosuko Resort” (212 Motosu, Fujikawaguchiko-machi, Minamitsuru-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture) operated by Pica, a member of the Fujikyu Group. Visitors can enjoy the co-starring performance of beautiful Mt. Fuji with lingering snow and 15,000 m2 of planted area of moss pink.

In addition to the “Little Boat Traveling on the Pink Sea” and “The Yellow Door of Happiness,” which were popular on SNS last year, this year a new photo spot, “Pop-up Picture Book World,” was created in collaboration with students from the Yanai Laboratory of the Tokyo University of the Arts’ Design Department. Visitors will be able to take fantastic photos as if they have entered a fairy tale storybook world.

Fuji, “Kikyo Shingenmochi Soft” topped with Kikyo Shingenmochi, and “Curry Bread” with its sticky dough and secret sauce, etc. Visitors can also enjoy take-out gourmet foods while strolling around.

Other souvenirs such as “Kikyo Shingen Mochi” and “FUJIYAMA COOKIE” in limited event packages, and a new product “Stained Glass Style Bookmarker” depicting a spectacular view of the Fuji Shibazakura will also be available at the store.

Entrance fees for the Fuji Shiba Cherry Blossom Festival vary depending on the season, ranging from 1,000 to 1,300 yen for adults (junior high school students and older) and 500 to 700 yen for children (3 years and older). In addition, Fujikyu Travel offers “Shibachike,” an advance purchase ticket on the web that offers a 100 yen discount from the regular price. With Shibachike, visitors can smoothly enter the park through a special entrance without standing in line at the ticket booth on the day of purchase.

Other available packages include the “Fuji Shiba Cherry Blossom Liner” route bus with an entrance ticket, highway buses departing from major stations such as Shinjuku and Tokyo with a Fuji Shiba Cherry Blossom Liner and an entrance ticket, and direct tour buses departing from Shinjuku, Shin-Yokohama and Shizuoka with an entrance ticket to the venue.

The “Peter Rabbit English Garden” will open on the same day at Fuji Motosuko Resort. A colorful garden event will also begin in late April at “Lisa and Gaspard Town” (5-6-1 Shin-Nishihara, Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture) in Fujikyu Highland, about 40 minutes by car from the venue.
