Hanshin Expressway has announced traffic congestion forecasts for the Golden Week period (April 26-May 6). To prevent and alleviate traffic congestion, the company is calling for changes in usage dates, times, and routes.
Traffic congestion on the Route 3 Kobe Route will peak on May 3 in the direction of Himeji (westbound) and on May 5 in the direction of Osaka (eastbound). Traffic congestion is expected to be up to approximately 23 km near the Ashiya – Daini-Shinmei Road junction and up to approximately 33 km near the Daini-Shinmei Road, Nagatani JCT – Mukogawa area.
In the Osaka area, the Route 14 Matsubara line between Kire-Uriwari and Miyake JCT is closed to traffic all day and the Route 16 Osaka Port line (Tempozan direction) near Awaza is restricted to one lane all day due to construction work.
In the Hyogo area, please check the latest road traffic information on the Hanshin Expressway’s Route 3 Kobe and Route 7 Kita-Kobe routes, as well as the Chugoku Expressway (E2A) and Shin-Meishin (E1A) for routes with less congestion.
