National Highway 470, Noto Expressway and Noto-satoyama Kaido, expected to be open to two-way traffic by the end of July. One-way alternating traffic near Noto Bridge.

Posted on 2024-04-23 by Editor in Chief

The Kanazawa Office of Rivers and National Highways and the Noto Reconstruction Office of the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism have announced the prospects for securing two-way traffic on National Route 470, the Notoetsu Expressway and the Noto-satoyama Kaido, which are currently under restoration work due to damage from the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.

One-way traffic (one lane facing north) has been maintained between the Noto-satoyama Airport IC and the Tokuda-Otsu IC toward Wajima, but the entire section will be open to two-way traffic by the end of July. However, due to a large landslide at the back of the bridge abutment near the Noto Bridge, one-way traffic will be alternated for the time being.

Speed restrictions may be in place on sections where the road alignment and gradient are poor due to detours around landslide areas, such as between the Nonosatoyama Airport IC and Anamizu IC, and between the Koshinohara IC and Yokota IC.
