On March 28, SoftBank announced that it had implemented measures to improve communication quality at Suzuka Circuit in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, and around Suzuka Circuit Inao Station on the Ise Railway.
Various events are held at Suzuka Circuit throughout the year, especially during the F1 Grand Prix when over 100,000 spectators visit the circuit, which sometimes causes unstable communication.
Until now, the company has responded to large-scale events by deploying mobile base station vehicles, but with the new measures, the company is installing new 5G base stations and strengthening existing base stations. The company claims that it will be able to provide stable communication services without the need for mobile base station vehicles even during large-scale events.
Since there are hotels and amusement parks on the grounds of the Suzuka Circuit, a good communication environment is appreciated even outside of the race spectating area.
