Yokohama City, Tokyu, and Showa University have formulated the “Fujigaoka Station Area Redevelopment Basic Plan” as a policy for urban development in the area north of Fujigaoka Station.
More than 50 years have passed since the Tokyu Denentoshi Line Fujigaoka Station area was built, and it has become necessary to address the aging of the station area facilities and renewal of their functions. The three parties began discussions to create a new community, and based on the urban planning master plan and other high-level plans, workshops and solicitation of opinions were held to create a plan, and a basic plan was formulated.
The basic policies of the project are to “create a unique Fujigaoka station-front base with open spaces, a hospital, and commercial businesses in front of the station,” to “integrate the park and hospital that symbolize Fujigaoka and create a green and relaxing place to stay,” to “create a safe and comfortable traffic environment in front of the station,” and to “integrate functions in front of the station and regional cooperation to create a model of a safe and healthy town.
