Shogakukan collaborated with Skymark to prepare a supplement for the August/September issue of “Kindergarten,” which goes on sale June 28, entitled “Otoganaru! Skymark Hikouki Special Set” in collaboration with Skymark. The price is 1,290 yen.
Skymark’s passenger plane (JA73NP) is reproduced in assembled paper furoku. Pressing a button on the fuselage plays specially recorded in-flight announcements and engine sounds. The 33-centimeter-long model is said to have been designed with attention to detail, including the heart mark on the winglets.
The set also includes a container for loading cargo and a carrier, so the user can listen to the voice while the carrier carries the cargo and loads it into the aircraft. The color and design of the seats inside the aircraft closely resemble those of the actual cabin. The set also comes with dolls representing various jobs, such as pilot, flight attendant, aircraft mechanic, ground passenger attendant, and ramp handling staff, so visitors can experience each job by moving the dolls around.
The baggage carriers and containers are based on those actually used at Naha Airport, and are reproduced to Soratobu Pikachu Project specifications. The concept of the project was to “let people know that many people are involved in the safe operation of airplanes,” so that visitors can learn about what goes on inside and outside of airplanes while playing with them. The magazine’s companion articles also provide an insight into the work and ingenuity of each of these people.
