April 18, 2024 (Thursday) Ceremony to Commemorate the Donation
Suzuki Motor Corporation donated training equipment, including three vehicles, to the National Institute for Vocational Training in the Democratic Republic of Congo (hereinafter referred to as “INPP”), and a ceremony was held at the INPP headquarters to commemorate the donation.
Mr. Shinji Ishikawa, General Manager of Overseas Service Department, Service Division, Suzuki Motor Corporation, presented the donation to Minister Ndusi in the presence of Mr. Claudine Ndusi Mukembe, Minister of Employment, Labor and Social Security, Mr. Hidenobu Maekawa, Counselor at the Embassy of Japan in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mr. Godefroy Stanislas Chimanga Wa Muntuabu, President, INPP, Mr. Shinji Ishikawa, General Manager of Overseas Service Department, Service Division, Suzuki Motor Corporation, presented a list of donated items and a replica key of the donated vehicle to Minister Ndusi.
Mr. Ishikawa read a message from Mr. Toshihiro Suzuki, President and Representative Director of Suzuki Motor Corporation, who said that the donation of training equipment to INPP and the use of this equipment to provide high quality training and development of auto mechanics is in line with Suzuki’s motto of maximizing one’s abilities through continuous efforts. The donation of the training equipment and the use of the equipment to train auto mechanics by INPP is in line with Suzuki’s motto of maximizing one’s abilities through tireless efforts, and the company encouraged the graduating auto mechanics to maximize their abilities as maintenance professionals.
In response, the INPP President reiterated his gratitude and expressed his desire to make maximum use of the training equipment to provide high-quality training, and to contribute to the improvement of mobility and traffic safety in the country and to a comfortable and secure life through the activities of the trained auto mechanics.
April 19, 2024 (Friday) Suzuki Corporation Special Lecture on “Professional Technician
Following the donation ceremony, on the following day, Mr. Ishikawa of Suzuki Motor Corporation and Mr. Aragvel Raghavan, General Manager of Service and Spare Parts Department, International Marketing Division, Maruti Suzuki India gave a special lecture on the theme of “Professional Technician”. Approximately 130 participants, mostly INPP executives and training instructors, attended this special lecture.
Mr. Ishikawa introduced the business of Suzuki Motor Corporation, as well as important initiatives and tools for automobile maintenance. In addition, he gave a message to the participants that they should study hard and do their best to become professional technicians because the number of private cars in Africa is expected to increase and the importance of car maintenance will grow along with it.
In addition to introducing Maruti Suzuki India’s business, Mr. Raghavan introduced the company’s after-sales service initiatives using digital technologies such as smartphones and AI, which led to a lively Q&A session.
JICA will continue to contribute to the improvement of the quality of vocational training in INPP and the development of industrial human resources in the country through the technical cooperation project “Capacity Enhancement Project for National Vocational Training Institutions Phase 2”.
