First, a concert at the Japan Chanson Museum, where you can feel France even though you are in Japan We left by car from our home in Tokyo and went to the Japan Chanson Museum in Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture. I have written about it in this series of articles when I performed there before, but this was my first visit there in the spring.
The garden, with its various flowers, still had a little hint of winter, but the strong winds did not deter the visitors from enjoying the breath of life. We had a light rehearsal in the hall and had a leisurely lunch at the museum store and café before the performance. The food at this café is so good that I always end up eating something whenever I visit. They have blended herbal teas named after chanson songs, and this time I ordered the “Hymn of Love”. After enjoying the cod with butter lemon sauce and soufflé, it was time to get down to business! It was the first time for me to perform with Ms. Kaori Hino on piano, but just before the performance, we discovered that we are the same age, and we performed in perfect harmony. We had guests from Gunma, Saitama, and Tochigi prefectures, and everyone listened to us warmly.
After finishing our work, we went to an old soba noodle shop. After singing, we were hungry, so we decided to eat at a nearby soba noodle shop, Soba Jaya Nakashima. I wanted udon, so I ordered tempura udon, and my family, who accompanied me as staff, ordered tempura soba. The old house and peaceful scenery soothed me, and the wood stove, which was in operation in winter? The wood stove is a nice touch. We enjoyed the plump udon noodles with crispy tempura. After filling up, we headed to “Hato no Yu Onsen Sanbato Ro” in the direction of Azuma from Shibukawa, as we had already booked a hot spring hotel for our next live performance in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture.
