June 2024 issue of Airline Monthly, featuring “Air Traffic Control” for airport and airplane safety.

Posted on 2024-04-292024-05-01 by Editor in Chief

On April 30, Ikaros Shuppan released “Monthly Airline June 2024,” an A4-size, 160-page book priced at 1,760 yen.

The special feature is “More about Air Traffic Control!”

To learn about the role of “air traffic control” in protecting the safety of aircraft arriving at, departing from, and flying over airports, we present a front-line report from the control tower that centrally controls New Chitose Airport, which has one of the heaviest traffic volumes, and Chitose Air Base, a key air defense base. In addition, the “Introduction to Air Traffic Control,” a lecture by a former air traffic controller and a visit to the practical training site of the Air Navigation College are included in the report.

In addition, we will also provide you with details and flight reports on the Boeing 787-10, introduced by ANA as its next-generation flagship for domestic flights; a boarding report on JAL’s Haneda-Doha route, the first direct flight by a Japanese airline to the Middle East; details of the last NASA DC-8 mission covered in Korea and Thailand; on-site photography of the new aircraft at Haneda Airport; and much more. We will also provide a variety of reports and news articles, including on-site photography of the “Solamnade Haneda Ryokuchi” view spot.
