OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda by Hoshino Resort” by Hoshino Resort is housed in the “Gotanda JP Building” which had its grand opening on April 26. The new building has been in operation since April 11, and some of the facilities and guest rooms have been opened to the public.

Among the many hotel brands that Hoshino Resort operates, the OMO is operated under the concept of a “town hotel. As Yoshimichi Hoshino, the president of OMO, explained at the opening ceremony, “We value not only our business guests but also our sightseeing guests. The facility also offers other services that meet the needs of the times, such as five rooms that allow guests to stay with their pets.

Takuto Oki, general manager of OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda, explained the services offered by the OMO brand, which is staffed by “OMO Rangers,” a group of neighborhood-loving staff members who each provide detailed information that cannot be found in guidebooks, which they have steadily collected.

A “neighborhood map” with recommendations is available in the facility so that visitors can enjoy walking around town. Other activities include the “Hitosara de Gohyo Pass” (about 2,000 yen), which offers one dish and one drink in 30 minutes in cooperation with popular restaurants, and the “Gotanda Hills Tour” (6,000 yen), which allows visitors to enjoy drinking at about 40 restaurants in the “Gotanda Hills” area. The “Gotanda Hills Tour” (6,000 yen) is a tour of Gotanda Hills, a collection of about 40 restaurants.

On the 14th floor, there is also “OMO Cafe & Bar” where you can relax and enjoy the view from the upper floors. The location 60 meters above the ground boasts an outstanding view, and the night view is said to be even more beautiful. As a local effort, the restaurant also offers a “snack plate” in collaboration with “Shinanoya,” a chicken specialty restaurant.

Another great feature of the 14th floor is the hanging garden in the outdoor area. Tables and chairs are provided, and this open, green space is a relaxing place to be in the midst of the city. In the center of the garden is a shallow pool of water and an island where visitors can dip their feet in the water and enjoy the cool air in the summer. The location is also close to Haneda Airport’s southerly flight route, so visitors can watch planes descending over Gotanda Station.

There are 10 types of rooms in total, and we were able to cover the OMO House Suite, the most spacious of them all, and the Deluxe Room, which has a living room space. The OMO House Suite is located on the corner and boasts views from two sides. It is equipped with a dining table and a mini-kitchen, making it possible for guests to stay longer.

The deluxe rooms are also suitable for families, as they have a living space. The sofa bed by the window also allows guests to enjoy the view, and the night view is said to be particularly beautiful.

The interiors of the rooms are also designed inspired by the streets of Gotanda, and one of the pleasures of the rooms is to enjoy them. The windows are decorated with sign lighting inspired by Gotanda, which differs from room to room.

The sofa bed and cushions are made of retro-style fabrics that represent the building’s tiles and bricks, in colors unique to Gotanda. The textile design of the corridor was inspired by the nearby Trestle Bridge, a valuable structure with bridge girders passing over the piers, which were built in the shape of a mole.

The OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda, the 16th hotel under the OMO brand, is expected to be very popular with visitors to the area.
