Tokyo Monorail will hold a variety of events from this summer to commemorate the 60th anniversary of its opening on September 17.
From July to November, three commemorative tours using the monorail will be set up: a “High Ball Train” in July, a “Cruise & Monorail Base Tour” in October, and a “Monorail Night View & Tokyo Mega Illumination Tour” in November.
In addition, in September, the “Monorail & Yamanote Line Discount Ticket”, which is usually available only on weekends, holidays, and special days, will go on sale every day. A campaign offering bonus miles for travel between Monorail Hamamatsucho Station and Haneda Airport terminal stations will also be offered.
In addition, the company plans to operate wrapped cars in the colors used when the line first opened (summer onward), release a novel by author Fuminobu Onodera titled “Mono” (early August), which is based on the Tokyo Monorail, and commemorative goods. The “3rd Monorail Summit” to be held on November 4 will also be part of this project.
Details of both projects will be announced at a later date.
