Fantasy Springs, a new theme port opening June 6 at Tokyo DisneySea.
The restaurant that will appear in the “Peter Pan’s Neverland” area is Lookout Cookout. It is a playful restaurant where you can enjoy a quick snack, perfect for a break after experiencing the attractions.
Located alongside the “Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure” attraction, the Lookout Cookout is a hideout created by the Lost Kids who live with Peter Pan and his friends, and is made of scrap wood from shipwrecks and other debris that have washed ashore in Neverland.
This counter-service restaurant seats approximately 200 guests and is available only to guests who have entered Fantasy Springs, and no standby passes are issued. The restaurant is eligible for “Disney Mobile Ordering,” which allows guests to specify a specific time to pick up their order while waiting for an attraction, or to place their order at their table.
From the outside, the right side of the building is full of ingenuity: a ship is turned upside down and used as a roof, and a signboard is made from the scrap wood of a shipwreck. The cast members’ costumes are also colorful and made of patchwork fabrics. According to the cast members, there are various types of jackets, vests, pants, etc., and they can wear them in any combination they like.
The store has a large space, and since it is not separated by window glass, it has an open feel. It is interesting to catch a glimpse of the Lost Kids’ everyday lives, with their pajamas and hammocks hanging and playthings on the walls. There are cute illustrations here and there that look like they were drawn by children and decorated with driftwood from the mainland.
The “Lost Kids Snack Box” (900 yen per box), a fun way to enjoy a little bit of various fried foods and snacks, is available in two varieties: Butter Curry Chicken and Lemon Tea Chicken, perfect for those who are hungry for something small. These snacks will make you want some water, so be sure to enjoy them with a soft drink or draft beer.
The box contains “chicken tenders,” which are nuggets, light bread-like “popovers,” deep-fried “seaweed fritters,” banana chips, and “shrimp chips,” which are fried crackers. The “Lemon Tea Chicken” chicken tenders are particularly interesting, with a flavor inspired by British tea culture, with malt vinegar and black tea.
Incidentally, the container can be easily unfolded, and inside is a map of the treasures and playgrounds in the “Peter Pan’s Neverland” area drawn by the Lost Kids. After you finish eating, be sure to open it up and check it out.
The Lost Kids Snack Box also comes with a Souvenir Tote Wipe Carry for an additional 1,100 yen. This popular souvenir is easy to take out wet wipes and other items, and is designed around the theme of Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure. The Lost Kids are cutely depicted on the back, and the silhouettes of the Lost Kids are also on the back. The Souvenir Wipe Carry is also sold at stores outside the Fantasy Springs area.
For dessert, we recommend the Lookout Brownie (600 yen per piece). This small but rich chocolate cake is a simple looking but very tasty dish. It is my personal recommendation. Try it with coffee or tea. The chocolate on the top with the store’s name on it is thick, and although it is small, it is satisfying enough to eat. It is a moist, rich, and delicious brownie that will satisfy even those who eat brownies frequently.
The “Lime Jelly & Yogurt Mousse” (550 yen per piece) is a bright looking item. It is a dessert that expresses the “Disney fantasy world guided by a magical spring.” It consists of layers of lime jelly and yogurt mousse, and has a refreshing and nostalgic taste. The top is topped with chocolate with the Fantasy Springs logo design.
This lime jelly & yogurt mousse can be served with a souvenir cup for an additional ¥650. These beautiful souvenir cups depict the nature, magical springs, and characters of Fantasy Springs, and are fully stocked with Peter Pan, Anna and Elsa, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Great for long-lasting use regardless of the season.
A special drink available only at Lookout Cookout is the Pixie Dust Soda (Kiwi) (750 yen per glass). The kiwi and lemon flavor of this refreshing soda is perfect for summer. The yellow star floating on top of the soda melts in the drink, making the entire drink look like it has been sprinkled with pixie dust. The kiwi pulp is submerged at the bottom of the drink, so mix well before drinking.
The classic “Gummy Candy with Mini Snack Case” (1,200 yen per piece) is also a mini-snack case with a book-shaped design depicting the nature and magical springs of Fantasy Springs and its characters. The container is opened like opening a book, and snacks are placed in it. Even after using it as a snack case, the design makes it very easy to use as a small container. The “Gummy Candy with Mini Snack Case” will also be sold at stores outside the Fantasy Springs area,
Lookout Cookout is the perfect place to take a break between attractions and strolls. The store’s walls and ceilings are decorated with plenty of items that are well worth a look. Feel like you are one of the Lost Kids!
