CITIZEN WATCH will release “The CITIZEN” limited edition model “AQ4100-65L” on May 28, 2012 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of CITIZEN brand watches, limited to 600 pieces and priced at 462,000 yen.
It features a dial made of indigo-dyed Tosa washi paper that incorporates the “tsutsu-maki tie-dye” technique, which is mainly used for dyeing cloth. The hand-dyed tie-dye patterns and tints represent a series of clouds in the sky, while the gold-colored second hand represents a pillar of light falling from the gaps in the clouds.
The dial, crown, and back cover feature the eagle symbol of “The Citizen,” and the watch is equipped with a photovoltaic Eco-Drive movement that does not require periodic battery replacement and has an annual difference of ±5 seconds.
The case is 38.3 mm in diameter and 12.2 mm thick (design value). The case and band are made of Super Titanium, a lightweight, hard, rust-resistant proprietary material, with mirror finish on the lugs and bezel and hairline finish on the band.
