Local Charms: Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel’s Makimoto-san’s Recommendation

Posted on 2024-05-172024-06-07 by Editor in Chief

Although more and more people are using SNS to gather information about their travel destinations, even in this day and age, we are still interested in the recommendations of local people. In this section, we ask people who work at lodging facilities throughout Japan to introduce points of interest at the lodging facilities where they work and their favorite sightseeing spots in the surrounding area.

For this interview, we spoke with Ayano Makimoto, Digital Marketing, Sales & Marketing Department, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel.

Name: Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel

Location: 1-9 Maihama, Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture

–Please give us an overview of the facility.

Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel is the official hotel of Tokyo Disney Resort®. The hotel boasts the largest number of guest rooms in the Maihama area, and its vast 50,000 m2 grounds offer a wide range of facilities for a comfortable hotel life, from a garden with a cascading waterfall that can be freely explored and a variety of restaurants to a kids’ playland, indoor pool, and bathhouse.

–What are some of the highlights or experiences that you would like to see or experience that you can’t find anywhere else?

Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel offers dog-friendly rooms where you and your dog can stay together. The hotel offers a wide range of services to make your dog’s stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. The Oasis recreation facility, which includes an indoor swimming pool and large public baths, has a new kids’ area, “Wizkids,” which will be renovated in 2022 and is well received by guests with children. In addition, seasonal events are regularly held to provide more enjoyable content for visitors.

–What are your personal recommendations for nearby attractions?

First of all, I would have to say Tokyo Disney Resort. I personally love Tokyo Disney Resort, and no matter how many times I visit, I always feel a sense of excitement and am instantly transported to a fantasy world. I can’t wait for the new area to open. A short distance away is Kasai Rinkai Park. The park has an aquarium and a large lawn, making it a great place to take small children. It is also a great place to take a leisurely walk around the park while enjoying the view of Tokyo Bay. Cherry blossom season is also a great time to visit.

–Finally, any last words for our readers?

Thanks to your support, Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel will celebrate its 36th anniversary on April 14, 2024. We would like to express our gratitude to all of you who have supported us over the years, and we will continue to make every effort to meet the expectations of our many guests. The entire hotel staff looks forward to welcoming you to our hotel.
