The parking lot reservation application “akippa” will begin accepting reservations for official paid parking for the “76th Suwa Lake Festival Lake Fireworks Display” to be held on August 15 in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture, at 10:00 a.m. on July 15.
In 2023, the official parking lot and private parking lots in the vicinity of the Suwa Lake Fireworks Festival began accepting reservations in advance for a fee at the company’s parking lot, which has helped ease traffic congestion and reduce the workload of parking attendants. A survey of parking lot users showed a high level of satisfaction, with 89.7% of respondents saying they would like to use the facilities again.
In response to this, this year’s event will again require advance reservation of parking spaces for a fee in order to disperse traffic and ease congestion on surrounding roads. In addition, private parking lots in the surrounding area will also be utilized to alleviate the parking shortage. Reservations for the Akasasaki Park parking lot will begin on the same day, and reservations for other private parking lots will begin at midnight on August 2, in principle.
