On June 1, JR Tokai will revise the fares for the EX Early Special 7, which is handled by the Express Reservation and Smart EX online reservation and ticketless boarding services for the Tokaido, Sanyo, and Kyushu Shinkansen lines, for travel to and from the Shizuoka area.
EX Early Special 7 is a special Shinkansen product that combines a train ticket and an express ticket, and allows passengers to make reservations up to seven days in advance for a discount on a reserved seat in a standard car. The applicable trains are “Hikari” and “Kodama,” and child fares are also available.
For routes to/from Shizuoka area (Mishima/Shin-Fuji/Shizuoka/Kakegawa/Hamamatsu), the price was sometimes higher than that of “EX Reservation Service” and “Smart EX Service” (basic product) during off-peak periods due to pricing errors.
In order to change this, sales will be suspended until June 30, and a flat 200 yen discount from the current fare will be applied starting July 1 (one adult, one-way).
